History of Lahore:

Lahore was founded by the son of Rama Chandra, Loh. It was conquered by Mahmud Ghazni in 1021 A.D. Lahore became the centre of cultural and social education. Lahore owes much to Mughal princes because here Shah Jahan built the Shalimar Gardens, Aurangzeb constructed the world's famous Badshahi Mosque.

Old names of Lahore:

Lahore  was known by different names in the history. There is no clear evidence that when it was founded. In ancient times Lahore was known as Lavapuri. Similarly Lahore is the shortest form of Lawahar.

In 1980, Lahore population was 6,318,745. Mid_2006 government estimated that Lahore population was about 10 Million. Which makes it second largest city of Pakistan after Karachi. It is considered to be the world's 30 largest countries of Pakistan.

 The population of Lahore in 2018 is estimated to be 9.2892 million.

Lahore fort:

Lahore fort is situated in the North-western corner of Lahore, Pakistan. It is also known as Shahi Qila. It spreads over an area greater than 20 hectares. It contains 21 notable monuments. The Lahore Fort was rebuilt in 17th century when the Mughal empire was at the end of its splendour. It was used as the residence of Ranjit Singh, founder of Sikh employee. In 1618, the fort was modified by Jahangir. After that it was damaged by Sikhs and British And now it is restored partially.
